Sometime during the early 2000s, the Village of New Hempstead Justice Court closed its doors and the Town of Ramapo Justice Court resumed jurisdiction of criminal, traffic and civil matters taking place in this small Village.
Located in the Town of Ramapo in Rockland County, New York, the Village of New Hempstead sits north of New Square, east of Wesley Hills, south of Pomona, and west of New City.
On April 23, 2015, the Board of Trustees of the Village of New Hempstead approved a resolution (# 2015-36) establishing a Justice Court in their village and appointed attorney and Village Trustee Michael Koplen to serve as Village Justice.
The Village of New Hempstead Justice Court is located at 108 Old Schoolhouse Road, New City, NY 10956 (approximately 3.5 miles from my office).
Like all Justice Courts in the State of New York, the Village of New Hempstead Court adjudicates DWI, Criminal and Traffic offenses (in addition to various civil cases) occurring in their jurisdiction.
If you find yourself facing criminal charges or have received a traffic ticket in this or any court in Rockland County or the State of New York, please feel free to contact me for a free consultation at 845-638-9200 (www.Berklaw.com).
